I put this on hold for a while but now it's time to have this out. Skeletal lightning had this for pre order sometime in late August. You bet your ass I pre ordered this. First 100 pre orders came with a flexi that has a b side to a song that was not part of End paths and not part of the digital version either. I also ended up pre ordering the CD and cassette formats for this release. The sound off the flexi is pretty darn clear, I am actually amazed it was clear when I ripped it. I had posted this up on youtube but the band wanted me to remove it so I did but I think it has been some time and I believe the people who didn't get a chance to listen to it should now. I really love this LP the band fully matured out from those quick taps to something a little new. While it is a pretty short release (8 songs not including the b side) it feels a little limited. I still have not jammed to the cassette but I have played the LP and CD multiple times. The cd is a gatefold which I don't like because you can't replace the case if it ever breaks. The pressing on the LP is quite a few since other labels joined to release this. I happen to own the black press out of 150. You can purchase the bundle or whatever at skeletal lightning. It was long due for this band to drop a second LP that I almost thought this band ended too. While this isn't my favorite record or favorite release of 2016 it totally has its charm which makes it to my top list. The songs became more longer and it even has a slightly darker post hardcore vibe on most songs (Except End paths song) I do appreciate the new thing this band is doing now. It isn't those bands that changed the direction of sound and it sucks but it is rather interesting of a turning point actually. I do recommend picking this one up.

My favorite split ever
This split was one of my favorites when I was 16 and even today. I found out these bands thanks to this split. This led me to all these and from the 4 The reptilian is still active (They have a new LP coming out in September) this was a self released CDr in a sewed manila folder. I had bought this crap off someone and honestly it wasn't worth what I paid for. No insert is in this and even song titles. So in honor of this amazing split I shall post it here for you guys to listen. 2 of the lautrec songs were added to the bands 8 songs cd while the 2 songs off the reptilian were added to we have become ep as for osceola these songs were from a split with Suis la lune. Finally we have the short lived band I have not mentioned here which is Boy problems. The band lasted half a year which they released a 5 song tour cd and this split. One of the songs on this split is off the tour demo while the other appears to be new. The quality is all the same so perhaps they were saving this one for this split. The band appeared to have started in the summer of 2008 and ended later in the fall of that same year. I don't like splits a whole lot because most of the time I don't like all the bands in the split but as for this split its one of the few 4 ways I admire a whole lot.

The Reptilian
I really been wanting to do this for so many years, even before AEN. The Reptilian is much more of a new new modern band that mashes up post hardcore and math rock into one, its as close as I can really describe them. I found out about these dudes sometime in 2009 after listening to that Boy problems/Osceola/Lautrec/The reptilian split I also had found out they released Boys life less than 3 months ago and that EP became a life changer, I began to focus on these elements in modern bands. I was very new to this sound this band created. Sometime in late 2009 the band turned to a 3 piece instead of a 4, they did released some final material, there was a 2 song tour demo going around and a song called "Manaburn" that made it into a compilation a few months later. Some reason on The reptilians bandcamp the compilation track and tour demo are under "Unreleased" not so sure why. I could say the bands 3rd ep "Full health" took a while to get into, the band shifted to more of a punkish vibe but of course with math rock included, I did start liking the 10" a lot that I had bought that 10" a bit after (It was one of the first few records that I had owned and the first 10" on my library. During 2011 the band released 3 splits (two I own because those were better) one of my favorites would be the split they made with Innards because honestly Innards is another band Ill likely talk about next time I get on here (Maybe until Friday) The 5 songs from the split were compiled for a cassette entitled "The donut hill sessions" I was lucky that Skeletal lightning had a copy left. I also wanted to add that The reptilian were the band that helped me discover Count your lucky stars. The band disappeared after a while for a year but only to come back with a debut lp a few days away from my birthday of June 2013, Low health is easily one of my favorite LP's of that year each song was made so well for me to actually sit and listen to a entire LP without getting bored or semi bored. The band recently released a song on a 4 way split on Skeletal lightning, I only bought it because side A had The reptilian and Two knights I could really careless about the other side (What a douche) The band has mentioned a 2nd LP but what I want more are shirts from these guys I only happen to have 2, one that was made during We have become EP and Boys life EP and another during the release of Low health. There were 2 other shirts my dumbass never got at the time but they did tell me about having the storenvy opened soon. Count your lucky stars also made a cassette compilation that carries the bands first two ep's IT IS THE BEST FUCKING TAPE EEVVVAAA! I do encourage you to buy physical releases of the band so I will leave links for skeletal lightnings store for the new split and count your lucky stars for the we have become/boys life cassette and the few copies remaining of Low health.
